Pleco is simply indispensable for me! You will have to invest some money to have access to all of its numerous resources but it will be worth every penny.

the fill-in-the-blanks test is still limited to 4 syllables (and thats a long lasting & well known issue, Im afraid) even worse: its not documented - try a test with only >4 length cards and pleco tells you something of "no cards, since …" (but not about the length limit of 4) - therefore only 2 stars

Pleco is the most valuable app for Chinese I could think of. It allows you to learn the language in a systematic way, helps you to read texts and websites and, of course, is a collection of almost every dictionary (add-on, to be paid, better price than the printed editions). A note for German users: Bis zum Anfang dieses Jahres gab es keine besonders zuverlässigen Chinesisch<->Deutsch-Wörterbücher. Das hat sich inzwischen geändert, man kann hervorragende Add-ons (z.B. Lernwörterbuch Chinesisch; Das Neue Chinesisch-Deutsche Wörterbuch) installieren und findet dort auch sehr hilfreiche Beispielsätze usw. Aus meiner Sicht zeigt Pleco, was man erreichen kann, wenn man eine Software systematisch und intelligent weiterentwickelt. Therefore Id say its one of the best apps ever.
