This is that rare Chinese app that actually is everything you wish it was. Its outstanding. REALLY.
You can look up words by radical or pinyin. AND like a normal Chinese dictionary you get a substantial list of the various combinations/words/uses of the character. AND whats better than using a paper dictionary is that you only need to tap on any of these other "words" to see their meaning. No rifling thru pages to get a really full sense of the character.

Example: lian suo brings up chain, chain store, chain reaction etc..
then, if you want, you can easily choose to investigate any of those words (reaction for example) by just tapping.

AS WELL: you can choose to hear it spoken. Used in sentences etc.

And its so cleanly laid out- its just easy.
